The Role




The Data & AI Practice is pivotal in the modern data-driven business landscape. We are seeking an expert level Lead Data Scientist to join the Data & AI practice and play a key part in driving forward Proventeq's position in this market.




A high profile role, you'll join at an early stage of the development of the practice. Working with the Head of the Data & AI Practice, you will be a point of excellence for Data Science & AI, involved in delivering projects as well as other aspects; say 50% hands on and 50% management.

Key Responsibilities




Direct data science/AI projects from scoping to delivery, to include consulting presales, discovery, demos, technical advisory, fuller development and production. Providing technical governance & leadership, management and guidance to other teams, Data architects & developers. Mentoring where appropriate. Leading internal innovation projects. Understanding of roles of neighbouring teams, e.g. data engineering, AI governance. Communicating complex ideas to non-technical customers. Able to balance multiple projects, internal and customer facing, and work in a dynamic and fast environment. Able to speak at Conferences. Possibly involved in bringing in new talent and defining training for the team. ###

Required Skills




A Bachelors / Masters in a Computer Science or related technical discipline. Technically competent in Data Science & AI with an understanding of it's path and development. Hands on project delivery, advising & delivering on customer solutions. Data science best-practice pipeline. Open and closed source experience. Agile/Waterfall understanding. Cloud, ideally Azure and its core AI products (Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry). Modelling: Expertise in at least 2 areas of AI, e.g. forecasting, NLP/NLM, vision. Experience with GenAI, particularly Language Models. Coding: Python for data science (DS). Low/no code approach to DS/AI IDEs & notebooks. Git & GitHub (or similar) Production: Serving to APIs, e.g. Streamlit, Dash Production particularly MLOps/LLMOps ###

Good To Have Skills




Fabric Copilot, Copilot Studio PySpark, R, Julia Databricks CRM familiarity, e.g. Salesforce Able to learn new skills on the fly, staying topical in a rapidly evolving field Innovating new products Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100) ###

Job Location




This role will be based at our Reading office in the UK; however, we offer a flexible hybrid working model.
