We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking multi-disciplinary team.



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Nurse to become part of the North Derbyshire Early Intervention Service , recognised as a top performer by NCAP.



This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills and knowledge in early psychosis care, while working closely with service users, their families, and a supportive, collaborative team of professionals.



The successful candidate will work closely with people referred into the service and with their family members in order to promote optimism and potential around vocation and independence.



This post will entail the care co-ordination for service users from the age of 14-65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis and adopting the policies and philosophy of the service and sharing the team vision. You will be expected to :



Be responsible and accountable for your own practice and have a legal responsibility to service users, colleagues and employers.



Demonstrate strong leadership skills.



Develop knowledge of the early intervention service and take part in appropriate training for the role.



Take part in the yearly NCAP audit.



To support with the duty function and complete initial assessments of new referrals.



As a lead nurse, you will have demonstratable RMN post registration experience and be able to demonstrate post registration study and development.



Demonstrate excellent communication skills and have demonstratable expertise in care planning and risk assessment.



To be a role model, offering mentoring and supervision to your colleagues and students.

You will be expected:

To be willing to engage in appropriate training for the role.



Care co-ordinator for services users experiencing a first episode of psychosis and to have an active role in working with families.



Be involved in on going learning in the team and with it's goals and vision.



Take an active role in the clinical team meetings.



To be able to travel across a wide area.



Previous experience of working in an Early Intervention Service would be beneficial but not essential. A full induction and orientation to the service will be provided to the successful candidate.
