Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Role Overview
This role exists within Procurement & Commercial (P&C) and is responsible for leading on managing and reporting on requested Capital Delivery (CD) and Asset Operations (AO) Directorates\' and their supply chain\'s performance.
This role will work across all departments and suppliers to ensure a high level of delivery and drives continuous improvement and collaborative working to enable the business to deliver best value for money across all of its contracts.

Key Accountabilities

  • In partnership with the Senior Management Teams (SMTs), leads on facilitating the capture of business requirements across CD, AO, and its suppliers, ensuring that these are translated into effective and relevant performance measures that allow TfL to manage its business and contract outcomes
  • Provides recommendations to senior management to inform effective decision making on business performance, contract performance, incentivisation and penalties, ensuring that value for money is being delivered
  • Partners with supply chain to seek out areas for improvement within contract processes and procedures, developing and implementing effective solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Leads on developing collaborative relationships across suppliers and TfL contract users, to ensure that good practice is shared to promote efficiency, innovation, and resilience.
  • Drives development of benchmarking measures across all business areas and contracts to drive consistency and transparency of performance reporting provided by all TfL suppliers allowing TfL to make effective management decisions as and when required.
  • Provides a clear vision and direction by building high performing teams through the effective management, development, and empowerment of staff, whilst role modelling the TfL Behaviours.
  • Leads on the performance management regimes in order to drive good performance across the supply chain.
  • Fosters a culture that builds strong and sustainable relationships and promotes a culture that places the customer at the heart of TfL

Knowledge
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent in Business, Economics, Engineering or similar or relevant business experience.
  • Good understanding of New Engineering Contract 4 (NEC4) and other contract types, and contract tools and standard clauses.
  • Good understanding of working practices used within construction / transport environment and issues surrounding public transport provision within local authorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of different performance strategies and how they are implemented across a range of contracts.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure management.
Experience
  • Experience of leading and developing staff in a team. (Essential)
  • Extensive work experience relevant to the demands of this role.
  • Extensive experience of working with supply chain and contractors to ensure delivery is maintained in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with and balancing the needs of several key stakeholders including supply chain.
  • Proven experience in successfully informing business decisions at a senior level, between supply chain and client organisations, including facilitating joint decision making, preparing and presenting reports to peers and senior management.
  • Experience of applying performance measurement approaches to drive efficiencies and quality.
  • Proven experience in using data and lessons learned to inform changes in policy, standards, or improve quality and performance.
