WHAT TO EXPECT

The Power Architecture team designs and delivers low voltage (LV) and hazardous voltage (HV) power systems for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. We have responsibility for LV and HV power systems on all Jaguar Land Rover powertrain variants, from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) to mild-hybrid (MHEV), plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV). Power Architecture is a rapid growth area and is a key enabler for Electrification and ADAS.

The Power Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, verification and validation of LV and HV Power Systems on Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Design and development of new LV and HV power system architectures
  • Development and execution of power system Design Validation (DV) plans
  • Creation and documentation of power system requirements, test cases and test procedures
  • Power system issue resolution (pre and post J)
  • Ensuring compliance with Regulations and Standards (internal and external)
  • Delivering tasks and projects on time and on budget
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential:
  • Technical knowledge and experience of LV and/or HV power system design and/or validation
  • Experience of system-level and component-level issue resolution
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, data and conclusions within the team and to stakeholders
Desirable:
  • Electrical or electronics engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles (including MBSE & SysML)
  • Experience of Agile working (Product Owner, Scrum Master or Developer)
  • Requirements Management using DOORS/TRM
  • Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Proficient in CATIA Magic (MBSE)
  • Technical knowledge and experience of LV and/or HV power systems design and/or validation
  • Experience of structured problem solving (8D)
  • Experience of failure mode avoidance (including DFMEA)
  • Knowledge and experience of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Proficient in use of various CAN/LIN & Flexray tools such as CANaylzer and CANape
  • Proficient in use of LV & HV test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, dataloggers etc)
  • Experience of HV Permit to Work and HV Live Work Procedures.
