Lead Strategic Purchaser

We are seeking a

Lead

Strategic Purchaser

to join our global procurement team based in the UK, Poole, Dorset. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with our business goals, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality supply of critical components and systems across our marine product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities


Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for key categories, focusing on long-term value creation. Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance, innovation, and risk mitigation. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to align procurement strategies with technical and commercial requirements. Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and supply chain risks to inform decision-making. Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and supplier performance. Support sustainability and compliance initiatives across the supply chain.

What We're Looking For


Proven experience in strategic procurement, ideally within the

marine, maritime, or heavy engineering sectors

. Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. Experience with global sourcing and supplier development. Familiarity with marine systems, components, and regulatory requirements is a strong advantage. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
