What To Expect

The system leader for locking systems is the lead engineer responsible for the detailed system design and engineering of the vehicle locking system on all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles in order to meet feature and attribute requirements. This role requires working closely with various stakeholders across the business including feature owners, other system owners, component and circuit engineering teams, as well as the security attribute team to ensure the solutions engineered are feasible, robust and secure and delivered in accordance with agile working methodology to regularly deliver value on time, on cost and on quality.

What You Will Need

In this exciting yet challenging position, you will be accountable for vehicle locking system covering use cases active and passive entry, phone-as-a-key, and other locking system interactions in line with feature and attribute requirements. You will be responsible for capturing requirements and working to Jaguar Land Rover system design best practices to produce robust system solutions.

Typical responsibilities will include requirements elicitation to support robust system design, following Jaguar Land Rover\'s systems engineering process, supporting the rig and testing team with test case creation and execution for locking as well as leading the issue investigation on defects found during validation (rig or vehicle). Due to the seniority of this position, you will be expected to support team members as well as sharing best practices and knowledge with junior engineers when it comes to security features and systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven technical knowledge and experience of automotive systems engineering for complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience of working with automotive electronics and electrical architectures and knowledge of communication bus types such as CAN, LIN and automotive ethernet
  • Experience of working with electrical test and validation tools
