Main Purpose of Role:





To lead, plan and co-ordinate the delivery of Taser training across the force, ensuring training packages are prepared in accordance with force procedures and are compliant with College of Policing requirements and in accordance with the Conducted Energy Device (CED) Strategic Threat and Risk document (CEDSTRA) to develop the force Taser response and capability.


Key Skills & Experience Required:





Must have experience within the last 12 months as a Taser Instructor and knowledge of the current National Police Firearms Training Curriculum.



Must have experience in the roles of Range Conducting officer, Range Safety officer, Exercise Safety officer and Exercise Conducting officer.



Must have proven experience in the design / preparation and delivery of Taser training and the reviewing of Taser uses.



Must have experience of deploying with Taser in an operational setting.



Must have experience in risk assessing Taser training and the safe management of Taser ranges and exercises.



Must have proven experience in the inspection, maintenance and downloading of current authorised Taser devices.



Relevant and successful experience in the design and delivery of a range of different learning and developmental activities to individuals and groups



Must have detailed understanding of College of Policing Taser requirements and the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum



Must have experience in quality assuring training delivery and in compliance related work.



Must have good communications skills both written and verbal.



Must be able to work as part of a team.



Must be able to demonstrate commitment to supporting and developing individuals.



Achieve and maintain all requirements of the STO role profile.



Ability to advise, influence and negotiate across various levels of organisations.



Planning and organisational ability to manage a high workload and balance priorities.



Must have qualified as a Taser Lead Instructor.



Must be a Taser SME (or be willing to attend and pass an SME course).



Must hold IOSH Risk Assessment Managing Safely qualification (or be willing to undertake and pass this training).



Must be qualified Assessor to Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement.



Must be a qualified Assessor to Level 4 in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or be willing to undertake and pass this qualification).



Must have attended and passed a TEP course.
