Summary
We are seeking a Lead Warehouse Technician to join our team at Lionel Hitchen Ltd. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes. The Lead Warehouse Technician will be responsible for various tasks related to dispatching raw materials to our production teams and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
Assemble and check Production orders for dispatch in a timely manner
Operating forklift trucks in a safe and timely manner to support all site activities
Receiving deliveries, checking condition and accurately completing the necessary paperwork and Unity operations
Managing rack locations to ensure efficient use of space, recording all movements on Unity
Reporting and recording stock movement and discrepancies
Handling/ manufacturing products and raw materials by complying with the information within the MSDS's, risk and COSHH assessments
Use of manual handling equipment available for moving heavy ingredients e.g. product drums and packs
Accurately enter the relevant information on required documents
Ensure any deviation from current process is communicated to Production Supervisors
Proficient use of the computerized stock management system
Construction of Daily plans, including task allocation
Update of daily KPI's
Make the Warehouse/Planning and Inventory Manager aware of any shortfalls to meet the plan
Conduct Tier 1 Team meeting / Provide Tier 2 cover for Warehouse Manager (information only, attendance not required)
Requirements
Numerate and literate
Basic knowledge of food hygiene
Ability to use a computerized stock management system
Forklift truck driver (Counterbalance truck)
Previous experience of working in a warehousing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industry
Good communication skills
Attention to detail & high accuracy of work
ADR awareness training
