Unique Long-Term Development Opportunity - Future Leadership Role (Manufacturing, Plymouth, Devon)

We are a long-established and successful manufacturing business in Plymouth, Devon.

Since 2004, our current Managing Director has guided the company through growth, innovation, and stability. We are now seeking an ambitious, commercially minded individual to join the team in a unique developmental role, designed to provide direct mentorship and a clear pathway into senior leadership over the next decade.

This is not a finished role for an already-polished Managing Director. Instead, it is an opportunity for someone with drive, resilience, and talent to learn every aspect of running a manufacturing business -- from production and logistics through to sales, negotiation, and strategy -- while being mentored by an experienced MD and shareholder.

What makes this role unique:

Hands-on manufacturing management - working directly with the production and operations teams. Sales and business development - proving your ability to win and retain customers. Negotiation and commercial insight - learning to balance strong deals with lasting relationships. Logistics and supply chain management - understanding the movement of materials and products end-to-end.
What you'll be doing:

Working side-by-side with the MD on both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. Taking responsibility for sales growth and proving your commercial capability. Supporting production and logistics to ensure efficiency and reliability. Building relationships with staff, customers, and suppliers. Gradually assuming more responsibility over a 10-year development pathway.

Has proven ability in sales, negotiation, or business development. Is ambitious, commercially savvy, and eager to learn. Thrives on being hands-on and getting involved at every level of the business. Wants a long-term career opportunity with mentorship and growth at its core.
