Job description
Are you looking to pursue a career working with children? Do you think you have what it takes to inspire children to be successful, happy and to develop character for a positive future? Do you want to work as part of a happy, supportive team? Look no further!
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant and a Sports coach to join our hardworking, passionate team.
We can offer:
A caring and positive working atmosphere inspired by our inclusive ethos and strong staff morale
A staff culture where further training is encouraged and where Learning Support Assistants have moved on to more highly paid roles within school or to training for future careers in education
Appreciative pupils and supportive governors, parents and community
We are looking to appoint a member of staff who has patience and understanding towards all children and staff who will play a major role in supporting children within our school as a Learning Support Assistant.
The role would involve supporting children in the classroom and running specific intervention programmes and activities where relevant.
The successful candidate would work under the direction of the classteachers.
We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates with a keen interest and strong empathy for children with Special Educational Needs working in mainstream classes.
We are also interested in people with an interest in supporting children with complex needs as we have specialist classes within our school and therefore this is an option that may be available for a suitable candidate.
We are also looking to appoint a member of staff who has an enthusiasm for developing sports and activity sessions for primary children particularly those that do not take part in these activities outside school.
The role would involve leading play activities and team games in the playground at lunchtime, leading PE sessions during the afternoon and then offering games and sporting activities for children attending our Out of school club.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed so that you can meet the head and get a feel for our unique primary school.
Please contact the school office on 01422 363581 to make arrangements or email helen.york@withinfields.calderdale.sch.uk.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Applicants to posts that are exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
