About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group
.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Prepares, delivers, assesses, and verifies subject specialisms across a range of courses and levels, ensuring engaging, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences.
Student Support & Progress Monitoring
- Provides tutorials, tracks progress, maintains records, and supports students in achieving their potential through tailored guidance and vocational opportunities.
Curriculum & Quality Development
- Leads curriculum innovation, develops schemes of work and learning materials, and contributes to course reviews, quality assurance, and programme improvement.
Collaboration & Administration
- Works with teaching teams, manages support staff in sessions, completes administrative tasks (e.g. registers, enrolments), and participates in meetings and employer reviews.
Compliance & Promotion
- Upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety standards, engages in training and development, and supports marketing activities such as open days and student recruitment.
About you:
Qualifications & Industry Experience
- Holds a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation and a minimum Level 3 teaching qualification, with either recent teaching experience or a strong background in the UK electrotechnical industry.
Knowledge & Professional Standards
- Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Services, health and safety, and inclusive teaching practices, with a commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
Organisational & Interpersonal Skills
- Highly organised, meets deadlines, and communicates effectively across all formats, building strong relationships with colleagues and students.
