Background

We are seeking to appoint eight Lecturers in Psychology (0.6 FTE) to join our department, to primarily, although not exclusively, to work within the Research Methods teaching teams.



The postholders will contribute to teaching, marking and student support, under supervision of Module Leaders, across existing and new academic programmes in the department of psychology and neuroscience to enhance student learning and support the delivery of research methods training; to support academic staff through assistance with curriculum delivery and academic assessment.


Responsibilities

Deliver and contribute to high-quality teaching, assessment, and curriculum development within defined programmes. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellent student learning experiences, informed by research and scholarship. Engage in quality assurance, course development, and accreditation activities. Support student needs through effective teaching and assessment. Contribute to academic administration, outreach, and recruitment. Share best practice and participate in school and university activities. Support the development of educational leadership, and contribute to the wider academic and professional community.


Person Specification

A minimum 2:2 honours degree and postgraduate qualification (minimum merit) in Psychology or Education. Strong knowledge of research methods and the core BPS Psychology curriculum. Experience in teaching or supporting learning, with proven ability to apply quantitative and/or qualitative methods. Skilled communicator with strong organisational abilities, able to adapt teaching for diverse learners. Demonstrates engagement with the UK Professional Standards Framework and working towards (or holds) HEA Fellowship. Committed to inclusive practice, professional development, and collaborative academic work.
