You will work proactively, manage your own workload effectively, and collaborate with colleagues, industry partners and other stakeholders across the University.
Teaching requirements
You should be able to teach confidently in at least two of the following areas:

  • Real Estate & Property Law and Practice
  • Valuation & Real Estate Investment Management
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Planning and Development
We particularly welcome candidates who can embed real-world examples, professional casework, RICS-aligned methodologies and contemporary industry issues into their teaching.
An awareness of current national and international trends in the real estate sector is essential.
What you will contribute
You will:
  • Deliver innovative, high-quality learning experiences that support student success.
  • Translate professional experience into academic learning.
  • Provide effective feedback, support and academic guidance.
  • Supervise student work including dissertations, placements and applied projects.
  • Participate in curriculum design, assessment and continuous programme enhancement.
  • Engage in research, scholarship or professional practice relevant to the role.
  • Work collaboratively across teams and contribute to a positive student community.
What are we looking for?
You will have:
  • A good honours degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • A PGCert/HEA Fellowship or be willing to work towards this.
  • Membership of a professional body such as RICS, or commitment to working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of critical, practical and theoretical issues in Real Estate.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and team-working skills.
  • Digital confidence and the ability to use technology in learning and teaching.
Desirable:
  • A postgraduate qualification or substantial professional experience.
  • A doctorate (or progress towards one).
  • Evidence of contributions to knowledge (e.g., publications or professional outputs).
