Previous legal secretarial or administration experience in property law is desirable, although full supervision and training will be provided.
You will have a range of administration and secretarial duties, supporting the Legal Advisors within our Commercial Property team. These will include document production and editing, undertaking file opening and closing activities, managing Legal Advisor's Outlook calendars, arranging appointments and booking meeting rooms, preparing billing guides and sending out invoices, carrying our searches and liaising with the Land Registry to make applications and enquiries, photocopying and scanning, processing post, liaising with clients and collaborating with your legal support colleagues to effectively provide full support to the team.
The team currently consists of 3 support staff (full-time equivalent) and 10 legal advisors (including Partners, Senior Associates, Associates, Solicitors and Paralegals). You will be reporting to and mostly supporting Ash Jilani (Partner) and Thomas Whistler (Solicitor), but expected to work with the whole team where necessary, as well as independently, dealing with a range of interesting work and clients.
You should have strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft applications, as well as the ability to learn new systems quickly. Ideally you will be a confident, friendly and enthusiastic individual, with a desire to learn and gain valuable experience. You will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and excellent organisation skills. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly be in contact with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
