The Business Support Officer will support the Case Presenters and Fitness to Practice Advocacy Team Manager in a wide range of administrative tasks including liaising with stakeholders, notice of hearing/meeting and bundle preparation. There may be occasions when this role will be asked to work with the triage and investigations teams if there is a business need.

What you will do

Accurately prepare, redact and provide service of notice of hearing/meetings on social workers and bundles under supervision in line with instructions from case presenters and within strict statutory timeframes. Send and receive correspondence to and from social workers, their representatives, internal teams and our external legal provider in relation to hearings/meetings, responding where appropriate and escalating where necessary. Manage large quantities of sensitive and potentially distressing information in relation to fitness to practise proceedings in accordance with data protection legislation and our data management policies and procedures. Take responsibility for booking meetings, taking minutes and managing and following up on action schedules under instruction from the team manager for meetings held within the in-house advocacy team. Monitor and manage the in-house advocacy team email account and post, responding to and escalating correspondence where necessary and appropriate and ensuring correspondence is responded to within timeframes. Assist the team manager in maintaining, updating, analysing and reporting on case tracking systems to ensure that hearings/meetings are allocated in a timeline manager, reallocated where necessary and the case tracking system is updated once the hearing/meeting had concluded. Effectively manager your own workload in accordance with relevant timeframes and team priorities. Proactively identify and raise any gaps in processes or improvements that could be made with regards to the in-house advocacy team.
Your skills, knowledge and experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work within a statutory framework to strict timeframes Experience of working in a customer/client-based environment, with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work with case management systems and experience of maintaining records Experience of managing sensitive and confidential information Experience of working in a team and supporting others Analytical and research skills with an attention to detail Ability to plan and organise own workload and manage own time effectively Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy of work Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems Strong IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft office products A demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion

Job type:?Permanent Working pattern: Full-time. We offer flexible working subject to business need. Salary:?25,921 per year, rising to 27,064 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period Location: Sheffield/hybrid Benefits: flexible working, contributory pension, life insurance and benefits portal.
