About The Role

These are exciting times at ARAG, as we are going through a period of positive business change and sustained growth across our Legal teams. As a result, we now have a Costing Assistant opportunity available in our Bristol City Centre office.



In this varied and interesting role, you'll be responsible for providing administrative support to our Legal Costs team, who sit within our Complex Litigation department. You'll be required to help ensure the smooth functioning of our office and support our Costs Lawyers with effective case management.



Key responsibilities will include:


Providing general administrative support to our Costing team. Collating and drafting billing information for internal and external payees. Checking disbursements on settlement of cases, general housekeeping and paying of disbursements by cheque or bank transfer. Reviewing of documents including identifying legally privileged disclosure, redacting and sorting. Processing incoming and outgoing post. Working with others to deliver on team SLA's, KPI's, financial and performance targets to drive efficiency, performance, billing and throughput within the team.

About You

You will be a recent Law graduate or similar, looking to take the first step in your legal career in a busy, supportive and friendly legal environment.



As part of this fast-paced team, you'll thrive under pressure and be able to deliver results within tight deadlines. You'll also be agile in the way that you work and adaptable to change.



Other key requirements include:


Good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a Legal office. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills. Flexible, willing to learn and proactive in your approach. Ability to juggle multiple activities and prioritise your workload effectively. Ability to work well as part of a team with a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
