Our Adult Social Care team legal team, provide high quality legal advice, working on some of the most sensitive and challenging, yet rewarding cases. We support our Social Care clients in achieving the best outcomes for children within Leicester City.

Working in legal services at Leicester City Council offers you a breadth of legal experience that you simply won\xe2\x80\x99t find anywhere else. The council is a huge organisation and operates in a highly regulated environment. This means you will work alongside a team of specialist Lawyers on a full range of high-quality cases within a friendly and supportive team environment where your professional development will be nurtured and appreciated.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing

You\xe2\x80\x99ll directly support Lawyers, acting on behalf of the Council. You\xe2\x80\x99ll conduct negotiations and make disclosures of sensitive material within the parameters of the Data Protection Act. You\xe2\x80\x99ll provide legal advice at client meetings and undertake case management duties to include research and drafting. In addition, you\xe2\x80\x99ll oversee and assist paralegal and administrative support within the team.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to work at pace, organising and carrying a full caseload to meet set objectives. Having a flexible and adaptable approach to work pressures, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to successfully work to deadlines and prioritise workload. You\xe2\x80\x99ll represent the service in a professional and positive manner when liaising with clients and other external agencies such as the Court, Police, external Lawyers, and Counsel. With strong research and analytical skills, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be proficient in the use of IT and case management systems to excel in this role.
