An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Conveyancing Department of an award-winning Manchester law firm. As a firm committed to excellence, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Post Room & Document Services Manager to lead our Post Room operations and support the smooth running of legal matters across the business.
The Role
The Legal Post Room & Document Services Manager will oversee all daily operations of the firm's Post Room, managing incoming and outgoing legal documentation, supervising a team of Post Room Assistants, and ensuring accurate and timely handling of correspondence. You'll play a key role in supporting the wider legal teams by maintaining a high standard of document control and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Post Room team, ensuring adherence to internal protocols.
Supervise all scanning, photocopying, and digital document processing.
Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of outgoing mail via Royal Mail and DX.
Oversee the receipt and logging of all incoming correspondence, including DX collection.
Ensure photocopiers and equipment are maintained and replenished.
Operate case management systems and logging software for document tracking.
Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality in all document handling.
Support general office tasks where needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the department.
What We're Looking For
Experience in a post room, document services, or office support role -- ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or managing a small team.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confident using office equipment, document scanning software, and IT systems.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to day-to-day challenges.
