About the Role



Are you passionate about building, experimenting, and encouraging curiosity in young minds?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Bricks, Engineering & Robotics Tutor to deliver fun, creative building sessions for children aged 6-16 as part of our Creative Summer Club this August at Kent School of Fashion.

This is a temporary, fixed-term role for someone who enjoys working with children and has practical experience in any LEGO-based building, STEM activities, robotics kits, or other forms of playful engineering.

You do not need formal qualifications -- what matters most is that you are reliable, imaginative, and comfortable leading a group of children through engaging build sessions in a safe, encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities



- Deliver structured sessions introducing children to basic engineering and robotics concepts using LEGO bricks or similar kits

- Encourage creative problem-solving, team building, and hands-on experimentation

- Set up and pack down all materials and kits safely

- Support young participants in designing, testing, and refining their builds

- Maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning space

- Communicate clearly with the project coordinator and wider summer club team

What We are Looking For



- A passion or practical experience working with children (e.g., youth clubs, community groups, schools)

- Experience using LEGO, bricks or robotics kits

- Passion for engineering, technology, or STEM learning through play

- Patient, enthusiastic, and confident leading a group

- Must be available 2 days in a week, throughout August

- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before start date) - - Safeguarding awareness and commitment to child safety

Desirable (but not essential)



- Experience running workshops, clubs, or creative tech sessions

- Background in maker spaces, robotics clubs, or engineering-themed camps

- Basic understanding of coding or programmable kits (Scratch, Spike Prime, etc.)

Project Dates



- August 2025, with an opportunity for a retainer in Summer 2025 and 2027.

- Sessions will take place between 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

- Approx. 10 hours of delivery per week, plus brief prep and setup time

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: 13.00 per hour
