We recently developed a second bakery, also at our site in Hull, which specialises in premium quality roll production. Job Summary:

We're looking for passionate and dedicated Bakery Apprentices to join our team! This hands-on role is designed for someone eager to learn the craft of baking while gaining a full understanding of our bakery operations. As an apprentice, you will rotate through various departments, receiving mentorship and training in all aspects of our bakeries, from dough preparation to supply chain.

During this time, you will study towards a Level 2 Baker apprenticeship both on-site at our bakeries and at college, where you will be fully supported by a mentor and an apprenticeship coach.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Baking & Production: Assist with the preparation, mixing, and baking of various products, including bread, sweet treats, and specialty items. Decoration & Presentation: Learn techniques to create visually appealing baked goods, ensuring they meet our quality standards. Inventory & Stock Management: Assist in managing inventory, organising ingredients, and tracking supplies for efficient daily production. Quality Control: Understand and apply food safety and quality standards to ensure consistent product quality. Stakeholder Communications: Engage with managers, colleagues, and senior leaders from across the business. Team Collaboration: Work closely with operational colleagues, business stakeholders, and other team members to learn different roles and responsibilities within the bakeries.

Qualifications and Experience:

Basic Maths and English. Computer literate. Experience of working in a food environment is desirable, but not essential. Full, clean driving license is desirable, but not essential.

About the role:

The role will be shift based on our 4- shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts, these will be a mix of Days 6am - 6pm / Nights 6pm - 6am.



The start date for the Apprenticeship is Monday 15th September.



You will also be required to attend The Sheffield college on a regular basis during the apprenticeship (all travel expenses will be reimbursed). You will spend 20% of your time over the course of your apprenticeship on "off-the-job" training at Sheffield College, therefore shift patterns may be impacted as a result of this. You are required to attend all training as set by Sheffield College. We will release you from your duties to attend such training as is reasonably required to complete your apprenticeship and attain the Level 2 Apprenticeship Qualification.
