Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and qualified Level 3 Childcare Practitioner to join our team as

Cover Staff

. In this role, you will provide high-quality childcare cover across our nursery or preschool settings during staff absences, holidays, or busy periods. You will ensure a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years, supporting their physical, emotional, and educational development in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide flexible cover across all rooms and age groups as needed. Ensure the welfare, safety, and development of all children in your care. Follow daily routines and maintain consistency in care and learning activities. Support children with play, hygiene, and snack times. Plan, deliver, and support engaging age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, accidents, and daily reports, as required. Work in partnership with permanent staff, parents, and carers to ensure consistent communication and support. Follow all club policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality. Ensure rooms and equipment are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, injuries, or emergencies.

Requirements:

Level 3 qualification

in Childcare/Early Years Education (or equivalent). Previous experience working in an early years or nursery setting. Sound understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and routines. A genuine passion for working with children. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Flexibility to work at short notice and across different rooms or settings.

Desirable:

Paediatric First Aid Certificate. SEN experience or training.
