Fixed Term Contract Level 3 EYFS Apprenticeship

The Governing Body of Christ Church C of E Primary School is offering the opportunity for a Level 3 Apprenticeship in the schools EYFS department. The fixed term post will initially be for approximately 21 months depending on experience. The hours of work are 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday Term time plus Inset days.

To work alongside other EYFS staff, under the instruction/guidance of EYFS lead and senior EYFS staff to enable access to learning for pupils, and to assist in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outdoors. Specific duties and responsibilities 1. Support for Pupils ? To have regard for the safety and well being of pupils at all times and support staff in ensuring there is a safe learning environment ? To work alongside children in play as individuals or in small groups to support their learning and development as guided by the EYFS lead and senior EYFS staff ? To build positive relationships with all children through high quality interactions in play and act as a good role model ? Encourage children's development, independence, self-reliance, initiative and problem solving skills acting upon guidance from EYFS lead and senior EYFS staff ? To participate in pupils' play and extend and stimulate language through conversation? To encourage inclusion within the classroom and to provide a positive role model for acceptance and understanding ? To encourage good personal hygiene ? To meet the physical/medical needs of the pupil according to a pupil's individual care plan whilst encouraging independence wherever possible. Medical needs include the administration of medicines by mouth or other medical procedures provided appropriate training has been given by an appropriate person ? To encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher and follow the school behaviour management policy effectively ? To assist in the supervision of pupils on outings and visits under the guidance and supervision of EYFS Lead and senior EYFS staff 2. Support for Teaching ? Receive instruction and guidance from the EYFS Lead and senior EYFS staff regarding the daily / weekly planning, activities and learning opportunities ? To set out, prepare, use, tidy and clean equipment after use. Assist in the general preparation and tidying of the classroom ? Observe children's activities and contribute to their learning journeys and assist in displaying their work to reflect their achievements ? Maintain respectful and genuine interaction with children using warm and responsive communication strategies, which are appropriate to children's needs. ? To work within the established behaviour management policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self control and independence, managing in a calm and understanding manner. ? To provide clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, receiving and passing money to the school administrator 3. Support for the School ? To work alongside other professionals in meeting children's needs ?To attend appropriate staff meetings, INSET and phase meetings ?To promote faith life, policies and the ethos of the school ?To embrace the life of the school and make a positive contribution ? To ensure knowledge of all whole school policies and implement them as relevant to their role in the life of the school, promoting the faith ethos of the school at all times ? To be aware of all Health & Safety and Child Protection procedures and follow them accordingly ? To treat all information relating to a pupil as strictly confidential, and refer all enquiries, other than from professionals, to the Headteacher ? Take part in the school's performance management system. 34. Support for the curriculum ? To prepare and assist specific activities for children under the guidance and instruction of the EYFS Lead and senior EYFS staff ? To set out, prepare and maintain equipment, indoors and outdoors that supports pupils learning and progress ? To support groups of children under the guidance/instruction of the EYFS Lead and senior EYFS staff GENERAL ? Requirements

Ability to drive is preferred for transportation purposes related to nursery activities. A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children. Willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-paced setting.
