Key Responsibilities
Forest School & Curriculum
Plan and lead
age-appropriate Forest School sessions
in line with
Forest School principles
and the
EYFS
.
Support children's
physical, emotional, social and cognitive development
through outdoor learning.
Encourage
child-led learning
, curiosity, confidence and risk awareness.
Observe, assess and contribute to children's learning journeys.
Safeguarding & Health & Safety
Maintain high standards of
safeguarding
, welfare and supervision at all times.
Complete and follow
risk-benefit assessments
for woodland activities, tools and environment.
Ensure appropriate
clothing, ratios and boundaries
are in place.
Administer basic first aid and respond to accidents or incidents in line with
the
setting procedures.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support daily routines and transitions.
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding children's experiences and progress.
Support and model best practice to students or less experienced staff when required.
Environment & Resources
Help care for and maintain the woodland/outdoor learning environment.
Set up and pack away resources safely and appropriately.
Promote sustainability, respect for nature and environmental awareness.
Essential Requirements
Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification
Level 3 Early Years qualification
(or working towards)
Sound knowledge of the
EYFS
Experience working with
children aged 0-5
in an outdoor or early years setting
Strong understanding of
safeguarding and child protection
Enhanced
DBS check
Desirable
Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete)
Experience in
outdoor/woodland early years provision
Knowledge of
SEND support
in outdoor learning
Enthusiasm for outdoor learning in all weathers

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 19,536.00-57,992.00 per year
