We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and educational activities for children in a safe, nurturing environment. As a Nursery Practitioner you will play a vital part in creating a positive and engaging atmosphere that promotes learning, socialisation, and well-being.
We have the opportunity to be able to offer a full-time 40 hours a week position all year round in a fantastic nursery. Part-time (minimum 3 days) will be considered for the ideal candidate or working full-time over 4 days.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that support early childhood development.
Supervise and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Foster a nurturing environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities.
Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding children's needs and development.
Lead and manage small teams of nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations.
Organise outings and transport arrangements, including driving when necessary, to enrich children's learning experiences.
Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the organisation of nursery routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee team members effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
Valid driving licence preferred to facilitate outings or transportation duties.
Ability to organise activities efficiently while maintaining a caring approach towards children.
A genuine passion for supporting children's development through engaging educational experiences.
