Job title: 2-4 Room Leader  
Responsible to: Nursery Manager/ Deputy  
Responsible for: Small team within the 2-4 Room
To work at DN6 0HZ
Hours-30 hours per week 09:00-15:00  
Purpose of Job: To work within the nursery provision. To be an active member of the team, supporting children in line with the EYFS framework.  
Main Responsibilities  
? To plan and organise a high quality learning environment, ensuring that it is stimulating and welcoming to all children.  
? To be able to plan, observe and record children's interests and developments, ensuring children's learning needs are met in appropriate and creative ways in accordance with EYFS.  
? To ensure all legal requirements and standards are met at all times in line with OFSTED Early Years Directorate.  
? To follow and maintain procedures for regular reviews and assessments of each child's progress.  
? To establish and maintain positive relationships with parents in a way that supports the children's learning and development and parental involvement.  
? To develop and maintain positive relationships with the children's centre team, and link with the school to aid in the smooth transition of the children.  
? To offer support and guidance to parents, and to liaise with other agencies as appropriate.  
? To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met, and the required paperwork is completed  
? To take part in all aspects of the daily routine to include toileting/changing, meal times and cleaning duties.  
? To actively participate at team meetings, manager meetings and appraisal meetings.  
? To attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for your development.  
? To maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in record keeping.  
? Ensure child protection procedures and policies are adhered to and concerns are reported in line with these.  
? Ensure that all health and hygiene requirements are adhered to at all times.  
? To assist with the development of policies and procedures.  
? To undertake any other responsibilities as may be deemed necessary, under direction of the line manager, commensurate with salary and post.  
Safeguarding:
Experience: ? To have experience of working in a childcare setting delivering provision for children aged 0-5 years.  
? Knowledge and understanding of all current and relevant guidelines and legislation.  
? Good knowledge of child development.  
? Ability to work effectively with families particularly parents/carers.  
? Experience of observing, planning and delivering a child-initiated approach to learning.
Qualifications or Training:  
Essential - Level 2 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent, and a commitment to obtaining a level 3 qualification.  
Desirable - Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.  
Practical Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and other professionals.  
Good record keeping and written skills.  
To be creative and imaginative.
