Summary
GB Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 child on a 1:1 basis in a supportive Staffordshire primary school.
The child has Autism and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). He is a kind and caring individual who follows a personalised timetable and responds well to reassurance and consistency throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will need to be calm, adaptable, and supportive, with a firm but fair approach. The ability to build a positive relationship quickly will be essential in helping the child feel secure and engaged in his learning. Previous experience supporting a child with SEN is preferred.
A flexible, nurturing approach and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff are key qualities for this role. This is a full-time position across five days per week, with working hours from
10:15 am to 3:15 pm
each day. The school offers a warm, welcoming environment and a highly supportive team.
Responsibilities
Deliver targeted support on a 1:1 basis
Collaborate with teachers to develop a personalised timetable.
Manage pupils behaviour inline with school policy
Support pupil integration into the classroom
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Qualifications
Experience working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or above
Strong understanding of special education practices
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently
Experience with children, particularly those with disabilities or autism is preferred
A passion for education and helping students succeed
