1 - Job purpose
To maintain, Customer service levels, as the customer facing ambassador of the business, you represent the business and the values of customer service. The company operates to both the Fleet Operator Recognition scheme standard, (FOR's) and CLOC's drivers are to undertake detailed specific training to meet this standard.
2 - Principal duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
loading of skips onto vehicles so that items are safely loaded and secured for transit and to minimise the chances of damage.
Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law
Drive within tachograph laws and driver hour limits
Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage
Comply with fuel directives issued by the Transport Manager
Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and the inside of the cab
Ensure that on arrival the delivery is safe to make and respect site rules/customer's property; if in doubt, consult with site staff/customer and/or Transport Manager
To access the location of the skip prior to delivery onto the site advise the customer of your findings and the suitability of the site, ensure the customer is aware of the total weight of the truck & skip when the collection is to be made and therefore the necessity for a suitable surface, obtain a signature and print customer name.
Handle customer issues on delivery effectively and contact shipping office for assistance if required
If any errors/damage mark ticket accordingly and consult with Shipping office.
Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company's accident reporting procedure
Complete vehicle daily inspection and report defects.
Provide excellent customer service at all times
To operate the lifting equipment safely and in accordance with the correct procedures
Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the attention of the Transport Manager if necessary
Attend essential training in order to carry out your role including FOR's
To provide support in the Yard as required by the Yard Manager
. Ensure you are medically fit at all times to carry out your responsibilities, in accordance with the DVLA standards.
