We are seeking a motivated Engineering or Mathematics Graduate to join our dynamic team as a Underwriting Assistant.
Responsibilities
Underwriting Support: Assist underwriters by providing administrative and technical support that help in the decision-making process for policy issuance, pricing, and terms.
Analyse Technical Risks: Apply your engineering knowledge to evaluate technical risks associated with projects in industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy and marine.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their specific needs, explain complex concepts in an accessible manner, and build long-term relationships.
Data Analysis and Modelling: Utilise statistical models and data analysis techniques to predict potential risk exposures and outcomes.
Loss Prevention: Work on strategies to mitigate risk, advising on engineering controls and safety measures that could reduce the likelihood of claims.
Research and Reporting: Conduct research on emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies in engineering to keep our policies relevant and competitive. Prepare detailed reports on findings.

Requirements
Engineering / Mathematics degree essential.
MSc in Nuclear Engineering / BSc in Engineering / BEng.
Strong background in maths essential for evaluating risk factors.
Excellent risk analysis skills.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration within teams and with clients.
