Lifestyle + Wellbeing Team Member

Northfleet, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Overview

Wombwell Hall is a 120 bedded care facility in Wombwell Gardens, Northfleet - offering dedicated, sensitive and person centred care, and exceptional support to every resident, and their families and loved ones on their care journey.

We care for a wide variety of folks with varying needs - residential, nursing, Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and cognitive impairment, specialist nursing conditions, palliative and 'end of life' care, and those benefitting both from day care and care in their own home...

It is a warm and family friendly environment, where every resident, team member and visitor receives respect, is greeted and treated with the upmost dignity and receives the warmest of welcomes, every single time. We are proud to say that Wombwell Hall is well known, respected, and is fast developing a reputation for delivering projects and initiatives that no one else can...

An inclusive home that embraces diversity, we are proud that Wombwell Hall is truly 'a home for all'

A rare opportunity: we are seeking to add team member(s) to our LIfestyle and Wellbeing team, supporting our residents' and families' stimulation, inspiration, entertainment and holistic wellbeing - and enhancing the wider community presence of Wombwell Hall across Kent

We are prepared to consider 1 person, working FT 40 hours, or 2 people working PT 20 hours each.

Duties

As a Team Member, your responsibilities will include:

Alongside your colleagues, assisting in offering residents a varied and engaging programme of activity and entertainment, that stimulates our community and contributes to our residents living their best lives! The programme needs to support all residents regardless of their physical or cognitive challenges. This might mean communicating in different ways with folks such as using pictures or music to form relationships and bonds, or working 1-2-1 with a resident in their room as their mobility wont allow them to join group events in the lounge at this time... Our commitment to 'person centred care for all', means that you will work with your colleagues to ensure that every resident regardless of their needs, challenges or presentation can benefit from the programme, and can be 'reached' in one way or another... Play your part in suggesting programme content, events and pastimes that we should try, using your creativity, imagination and initiative to enhance our existing offer, and take it to new levels. Supporting our Community Relationship Manager by helping to organise and attending occasional events in the wider Kent community, (fayres, fetes, galas etc) and by welcoming families and the community into our home (fayres, fetes, music events, coffee mornings and cafes etc) Providing companionship and emotional support to residents, their families and loved ones, thereby fostering a warm and friendly environment. Supporting residents with dementia care needs, employing patience and understanding in all interactions. Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment within the care home, adhering to health and safety regulations. Participating in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge, as part of our commitment to ongoing personal and professional development opportunities for all our team members.
