Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Lift / Escalator Service and Repair Engineer to join our team. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing elevators, escalators, and related systems to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical engineering knowledge, experience with system design, and proficiency in various engineering tools and programming languages. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects within the manufacturing, construction, and systems engineering sectors.

Responsibilities



Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on lift and escalator systems. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting system performance. Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for system schematics, design modifications, and troubleshooting diagrams. Manage project scheduling to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks. Apply programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and scripting skills (Python, C++, MATLAB) for system automation and control troubleshooting. Analyze data collected from sensors, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools to assess system health. Collaborate with project management teams to coordinate installation or upgrade projects within manufacturing or construction environments. Use GD&T principles for precise mechanical component inspection and assembly. Conduct research using laboratory equipment or field testing to develop innovative solutions for escalator and lift systems. Document repair procedures, schematics, and technical reports accurately for future reference.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields; advanced degrees in Quantum Engineering or Mechanical Design are a plus. Proven experience with system design, project management, and root cause analysis in manufacturing or construction settings. Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiarity with 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), scripting languages (Python, C++, MATLAB), and data analysis skills. Experience working with schematics, laboratory equipment, or conducting research is preferred. Mechanical knowledge of escalator/lift components including mechanical design principles and civil engineering considerations. Familiarity with GD&T standards for mechanical parts inspection. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and system behaviors. Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments involving manufacturing or construction projects.
