Papo's Bagels is a family run, community focused bakery serving New York style bagels in the heart of East London. From our single site we serve our wonderful retail regulars, as well as operating a wholesale business which delivers across London to cafe's, restaurants and provision stores.

Job Overview:

As a Chef at Papo's Bagels, you'll play a crucial role in our kitchen, focusing on the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality bagels and other menu items. Your responsibilities will include:

Food Preparation:

Preparing items for our retail sandwiches, such as pickles, fresh vegetables and cured meats. Preparing dough and assisting with bagel rolling when needed. Maintaining consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.

Kitchen Operations:

Managing daily prep lists to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently. Monitoring stock levels and ensuring supplies are organized and properly stored. Following recipes and maintaining kitchen standards. Health & Safety Compliance Ensuring all food is prepared to hygiene and safety standards. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift. Properly cleaning equipment and kitchen areas at the end of the day.

Team Collaboration:

Communicating effectively with the team to ensure smooth service. Assisting and supporting other kitchen staff during busy periods. Adapting to daily tasks based on business needs and guidance from the Head Chef. Customer Service Awareness. Taking pride in preparing meals that enhance the customer experience. Being proactive in suggesting improvements to menu items or kitchen workflows.
