We are committed to delivering practical, client-focused advice with professionalism and integrity. We are now seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join our growing Litigation Department.
Role Overview
The Litigation Solicitor will manage a varied caseload of contentious matters, advising and representing clients at all stages of the litigation process. The role requires strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and case-management skills, with the ability to handle matters independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including (but not limited to):
Contractual disputes
Debt recovery
Landlord and tenant disputes
Property and boundary disputes
Professional negligence claims
Consumer disputes and general civil claims
Providing sound legal advice to clients and maintaining high standards of client care.
Drafting Court documents, statements of case, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
Conducting legal research and preparing case strategies.
Engaging in pre-action protocol steps, settlement negotiations, and ADR/mediation where appropriate.
Liaising with counsel, experts, courts, and third parties where required.
Representing clients at hearings and case management conferences (where appropriate).
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, SRA, GDPR, and internal risk management requirements.
Supervising junior staff where necessary (depending on experience).
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1-5 years PQE in civil/commercial litigation (other levels also considered depending on experience).
Strong practical experience running litigation matters from initial instruction to resolution.
Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain legal issues clearly to clients.
Proven ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
Competent in using case management systems and standard office IT applications.
Desirable
Experience in small claims and fast-track hearings.
Experience supervising paralegals or support staff.
Familiarity with LEAP (preferred but not essential).
