We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated live in care assistant to provide high standard of care to individuals in their own home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those under their care. This role involves working closely with clients, offering both physical and emotional support, while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with daily living activities, such as meal preparation and medication reminders. Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions and outcomes. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a nurturing environment. Assist with dementia care and hospice care as needed, ensuring comfort and dignity for clients. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Document client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health status to the appropriate parties. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Skills in patient care, senior care, and first aid are highly valued. Knowledge of dementia care practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A caring attitude with a strong sense of empathy and patience. Ability to follow instructions accurately while also being adaptable to changing needs. A valid driver's licence may be required for transportation purposes depending on client needs.
