Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Support clients with Alzheimer's or dementia care by employing behaviour management techniques. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Document care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable. Strong patient care skills with a focus on senior care and hospice care. Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration protocols. Ability to drive safely to transport clients as needed. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Capability to manage challenging behaviours associated with dementia or Alzheimer's patients. Proficient in meal preparation that meets dietary requirements. A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support and assistance.
