An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Consultant Plastic Surgeon with subspecialty interests in microsurgical breast reconstruction to join our existing breast reconstruction service in the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery at Manchester Foundation Trust (Wythenshawe Site).Already one of the largest breast reconstruction centres in the UK, this fifth appointment will allow us to further expand the provision of microsurgical breast reconstruction to the population of Greater Manchester, with capacity for over 200 breast free flaps per year.The breast reconstruction service runs five days per week through a single, dedicated theatre, and is supported by two DIEP specialist nurses and a plastics breast pathway coordinator (soon to be appointed).
