We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to oversee and enhance our logistics operations. We are a newly based online wooden flooring company that deals mainly with private customers delivering flooring to homes throughout the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the supply chain, ensuring efficient transportation and warehousing processes, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. This role is critical in maintaining the flow of goods from suppliers to customers while optimising costs and enhancing service quality.
Duties
Manage and coordinate all logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities.
Oversee the implementation and utilisation of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Supervise logistics staff, providing guidance and support to promote a high-performance culture.
Analyse logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the logistics environment.
Coordinate inventory management activities to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising waste.
Conduct regular audits of logistics processes to ensure adherence to best practices.
Experience
Proven experience in logistics management or a related field.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles and warehouse management systems.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting.
Experience with transportation management systems is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations.
Previous experience supervising teams is an advantage.
Proficiency in operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is beneficial.
