Lunchtime Supervisor
Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic induvial to join our family orientated nursery setting. The correct candidate will be able to work well individually and in a team environment, thinking of their feet using their own initiative when required.
A lunchtime supervisor will supervise the young children during their lunch break to ensure their safety and well-being. Key duties include supervising children in dining areas and play areas, helping with the preparing of foods supplied from home, supporting children during mealtimes, cleaning down of kitchen and dinning areas . The role requires strong communication skills and often involves encouraging good manners and social skills among the children. Key responsibilities
Supervision:
Overseeing children while they eat, in the playground, or in an indoor space if the weather is bad.Safety and care:
Ensuring children are safe, dealing with minor injuries, and being aware of and reporting any concerns, especially those related to safeguarding.Behavior management:
Encouraging good table manners, helping children get along, and dealing with minor conflicts and misbehavior.Child support:
Assisting young children with their food, such as cutting it up, and providing comfort and reassurance to those who are sad or distressed.Logistics:
Helping to prepare dining areas and cleaning up spills, cleaning down the kitchen areas to a high standard after meal times.Skills and qualifications
Skills:
Strong communication skills, the ability to work well with children and adults, flexibility, and good teamwork are essential.Experience:
While formal qualifications are not always required, experience working with children is often useful.Training:
Supervisors are required to have or obtain prior to employment (this can be supported) a Food hygiene and allergen training and receive training on safeguarding procedures.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
