Mercia Garden Products Ltd are seeking an proactive and dedicated Machine Operator to join our team.

This role is essential for operating and maintaining a range of woodworking machinery to cut, shape and prepare timber components according to product specifications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of the production line and the quality of our products and possess an excellent work ethic and can do attitude, along with a keen eye for detail.

We have a variety of machines producing the material required to make garden buildings and full training will be given by our in-house team.

Job Responsibilities:

Accurately measure, cut and prepare timber components to meet product specifications Operate and oversee various machinery Conduct routine checks on machinery to ensure all equipment is in safe working order Routine maintenance of machinery to help ensure smooth operation Identify and report any machine faults or defects Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies Maintain a clean and organised work area Working efficiently to ensure daily targets are met

Skills:

Proven experience in a similar role preferred but not essential Excellent attention to detail Physical fitness to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods Reliability and a can do attitude Ability to multi-task in line with the business demands Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Hours:

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 16:00pm

Location:

Sutton-on-Trent - own transport required.

Salary

: 12.21 per hour + Weekly Productivity/Attendance Bonus scheme (Rising once fully experienced within the role)
