About the Role:

To operate and maintain production machinery to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of ice cream products in line with company quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

Hours of work:

06:30 - 16:30 (Mon- Thurs), 06:30 - 15:00 (Friday) - 46 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Production

Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery to meet daily production schedules. Ensure correct materials, ingredients, and packaging are used as per product specifications. Carry out routine checks on machinery, reporting faults or breakdowns promptly to maintenance or line leaders. Maintain accurate production records, including batch information and downtime reporting. Conduct basic machine maintenance and cleaning in accordance with hygiene and safety procedures. Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure products meet required standards. Follow all site health, safety, and food hygiene procedures, including PPE requirements. Assist with line changeovers and product start-ups to minimise downtime. Participate in continuous improvement activities and suggest process enhancements. Support other team members and departments as needed to achieve production targets.

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience as a Machine Operator, ideally within a food or FMCG environment. Understanding of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene practices. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
