We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. The role involves working closely with various departments to deliver high-quality maintenance support, ensuring safety and efficiency across all operations.
Responsibilities
Assist with routine maintenance tasks across the facility, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs and installations.
Operate and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
Perform welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications of equipment and structures.
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
Support supervising staff in organising maintenance schedules and overseeing daily activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and inspections carried out.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during maintenance activities.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Experience
Proven experience in electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, or related fields.
Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals is essential.
Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
Skills in welding and metal fabrication are advantageous.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repairs.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred but not mandatory; however, leadership qualities are valued.
Excellent communication skills in English are required for clear reporting and team collaboration.
