Mission
As Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring all hotel systems, facilities, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. You will play a hands-on role in daily operations, compliance, and team development, while deputising for the Maintenance Manager when required to ensure seamless and safe hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities - Operational Excellence
Provide hands-on maintenance support across electrical, plumbing, sewage, heating, and lighting systems
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed, recorded, and tracked using H Mobile
Maintain hotel fixtures, fittings, and equipment, ensuring defects are corrected promptly
Conduct regular inspections of the building fabric and carry out necessary repairs
Identify and report complex maintenance issues requiring escalation
Ensure all hotel areas are maintained in a safe condition, taking immediate action where required
Support energy efficiency initiatives and cost-control measures
Develop strong working knowledge of plant systems, switching controls, and BMS
Ensure compliance with all statutory and company requirements including Fire, Health & Safety, Asbestos, Legionella, Electricity at Work, and CCTV legislation
Support training, documentation, and departmental compliance standards
Deputise for the Maintenance Manager in their absence
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a hotel or similar facilities / maintenance environment
Strong hands-on technical skills across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance
Solid knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance
Experience using planned preventative maintenance systems (H Mobile or similar)
Ability to lead by example and support team development
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
High attention to detail and proactive mindset
Eligibility to work in the UK is essential
