Air Bearings Limited (ABL) are a world leading innovative manufacturer of air bearing solutions, used across the engineering spectrum.

We design and manufacture high precision air bearing spindles that can run up to speeds of 400,000 rpm, with over 90% of our complete production process, from concept design through to the finished product, is completed in-house at our factories in Ferndown & Poole (Dorset).

About the Role:



Our Maintenance Team are currently recruiting for a

Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

to join us at a busy and exciting time. We are looking for someone who is looking to undertake a

Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship

, whilst developing an exciting career within our Maintenance Team.

You will learn how to provide both proactive and reactive support to the routine and preventative maintenance requirements for machinery, buildings and equipment, be mentored by our experienced Maintenance Engineer, work directly for ABL on a permanent basis, and attend college

one day per week

.

What will the role involve?



You will learn to:

Respond immediately to urgent machine / equipment breakdowns Maintain and service machinery / plant / equipment from programmed schedules Troubleshoot and rectify faults in a wide variety of situations Execute property / facilities / maintenance duties including lighting, heating & ventilation and plumbing services Provide support for new installations and/ or new processes Maintain accurate machine and equipment service records Control and maintain stock levels of machine spares and consumable items Take a forward thinking, proactive and solutions-focused approach Work effectively with the facilities team to complete tasks with minimal disruption Carry out work safely and in line with health and safety requirements Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business from time to time.

What will you require?



Aged 16 or over and not in full time education Must meet the entry requirements of the apprenticeship program GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4/C in Maths and English, or level 2 Functional Skills, to meet the entry requirements of the apprenticeship programme. GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4/C in Science also required. A keen interest in developing your career as a Maintenance Engineer Able and committed to obtaining the

Level 3 Qualification

Able to attend college release days Be a self-motivated team player with good communication skills IT literate, flexible and proactive Have the right to work in the UK Must have access to own transport Valid Drivers License is desirable

Apprenticeship Course Information:



Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineer Fitting duration is usually 4 years (48 months) You will receive training on the job and will attend college 1 day per week You must consider the travel time and expenses to get to ABL and the training provider (provider to be confirmed upon further discussion with applicants).
