Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team who will assist the Maintenance Manager by undertaking both reactive and proactive approaches to maintaining all production plant machinery. The goal is to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum through timely and efficient maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ongoing Maintenance Activities:
Carry out routine maintenance checks, respond to and diagnose breakdown problems, and implement permanent fixes. Identify and document root causes to minimise unplanned downtime.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor the performance of equipment after repairs to ensure effectiveness, reliability and optimal functionality.
Parts Fitting:
Fit new parts and ensure all equipment is working correctly and compliant with safety and legislative standards.
Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and troubleshoot effectively.
Chemical Handling:
Work with chemicals such as isocyanates in the production of PU foams, ensuring safe handling and compliance with relevant regulations.
Communication:
Maintain good communication with managers and workers throughout the business to ensure smooth operations.
Administration:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs conducted
Customer service:
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from other departments.
Health & Safety:
Follow safe working practices and methods put in place for Health & Safety reasons at all times.
Teamwork:
Teamwork is part of our culture, and everyone is expected to take on additional duties/responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
At least 2-3 years' practical experience of working in a similar role in a manufacturing/production environment.
Experience of fault finding and working to preventative maintenance schedules.
Proficiency in electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair
Demonstrate a track record of technical competence, working proactively and managing time effectively.
Logical thinker with excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with employees at all levels of the company. A positive attitude is essential.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication within the team and across departments
Self-motivated.
