Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to help ensure that all areas of St. Andrew's Stadium are kept in top condition--safe, functional, and ready for matchdays and events.

In this hands-on role, you'll support both planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of systems, working closely with our operations team to deliver a professional environment for players, staff, fans, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance



?



Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems. Respond quickly to urgent maintenance needs, prioritising safety and operational efficiency. Maintain all stadium areas to high cleanliness and safety standards. Keep clear records of completed tasks and update asset systems.

Matchday & Event Support

Prepare stadium areas before games and events - lighting, turnstiles, signage, seating, and more. Ensure player, media, hospitality, and fan areas are fully operational. Be on-site during events to resolve maintenance issues efficiently. Assist other departments with technical setup and support.

Health & Safety Compliance

Work in line with H&S regulations, club procedures, and industry standards. Carry out statutory checks (emergency lighting, fire alarms, water systems). Complete and review risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.

Team Collaboration



?



Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and matchday operations team. Liaise with contractors and ensure external work meets club standards. Communicate clearly with internal departments about schedules and maintenance updates.

Essential Requirements



?



Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance, facilities, or engineering role. Recognised trade or technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC). Strong knowledge of building services (electrical, plumbing, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills, especially under matchday pressure. High energy, reliable, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently. Must be flexible, proactive, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

3-5 years' experience in a stadium, sports venue, or large events facility.
