We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various systems within our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Understand and utilise technical understanding of electrical, mechanic and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Proficiency in modern maintenance technology, including SFDC (Shop floor data collections) systems
Interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings to diagnose issues effectively.
Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
Create and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Respond to emergency maintenance needs and performing on-site repairs
Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with production staff and supervisors as to important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion.
Supervising external maintenance contractors and ensuring they follow safe work practices
Organise and liaise with contractors for servicing and maintenance as and when required.
Controlling and monitoring inventory or parts and spares.
Performing installations and adjustments.
Work in conjunction with the Production Manager to ensure that Production operatives are trained and competent in the correct use of the equipment.
Preparation and presentation of routine reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) as agreed on performance highlighting any risks and mitigating actions, including information for board meetings, this information to be sent to Head of Manufacturing Operations monthly.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role or similar position.
Experience of working CI/Six sigma/Lean Manufacturing preferred -or willing to achieve.
Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
IT literacy
Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and logical thinking skills.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety within the workplace.
