Job Purpose
Sigma 3 (Kitchens) Ltd - Established in 1975. Sigma 3/County Kitchens is a leading manufacturer and retailer of quality kitchens & bedrooms. Sigma 3 has 6 of its own Retail Showrooms across South Wales and England. We serve a large number of independent trade and builder accounts and pride ourselves in a quality product and a quality service.
To strengthen and grow our Manufacturing team we are looking for an enthusiastic,
Maintenance Technician
with determination, ambition and self-motivation to support the drive for growth in our
Manufacturing Division.
We are a highly reputable and respected company, and are seeking a talented individual to join our friendly and professional team.
Key Tasks
Specific Tasks
Respond immediately to equipment and machinery failure, conducting systematic, rigorous and accurate root cause analysis (fault finding)
Carry out Preventative Maintenance Tasks as scheduled
Determine cause of potential failures or performance deterioration and if possible complete remedial work or escalate to Maintenance Management with issue, cause and recommended solution
Be aware of all incidents from other shifts and work with Operational Management to promptly implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
Ensure equipment is handed back to production in 100% safe condition
Keep maintenance and breakdown records of all operational machinery
Monitoring of spares levels and report when stocks are low
Manage Statutory Equipment on site i.e. fire alarm, security systems
Contribute to specific projects as assigned by Senior Management
Be Heavily involved with machine setting and quality outputs
Quality
Information/feedback - understand the need for documentation, its control and trace ability for all operational equipment
Maintain good housekeeping working to the principles of, Good Engineering Practices, Lean Manufacturing , 5S and TQM
Understand Root Cause Analysis and Corrective / Preventative Action (CAPA) system in problem solving
Understand working parameters of machines and principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance, product specification conformity, QC checking / recording / reporting and traceability.
Quality of finished Goods, Non Conformance and Completion Rates
Performance
Understand the capability / capacity of the operations department processes
Understanding of department targets and objectives.
Capable of root cause analysis to predict and eliminate operational problems
Utilization of Continuous Improvement Techniques at all times throughout Factory
Health & Safety
Act on and monitor actions as instructed by Senior / Maintenance Manager.
Monitor H&S actions, report faults to HSEQ Manager
PPE compliance
Conduct personal risk assessments prior to any maintenance work, ensuring hazard are mitigated to a safe level
Ensure Compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
Ability to read electrical / mechanical drawings and fault find from them
A passion and willingness to ensure issues of machine breakdowns are dealt with swiftly and effectively with minimum machine downtime
Be self-motivated, determined and enthusiastic.
Have resilient personality and good communication skills to liaise with staff and management at all levels
The ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
Computer literate (MS Office)
Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
Attention to detail
The ability to work as an integral part of the Manufacturing team
