To be an effective member of the Engineering team and to support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and by delivering planned maintenance, whilst ensuring work is carried out to the highest possible standard.
Full training will be offered on of all plant.
Working hours - afternoon Shift Start 1 pm finish 10 pm. Night shift work will also be required. 45hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance work; including breakdowns and planned maintenance to the site machinery and process.
Attend breakdowns and keep machinery down-time to a minimum.
Responsible for completion of PPM tasks and daily checks in a timely manner.
Work with our Maintenance system, completing work orders, Planned Maintenance, and requesting/booking out spares.
Help and assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.
Ensure all work carried out adheres to the Company's food standard practices and health and safety requirements..
Maintaining tools and equipment to a safe working condition.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Operations Team.
Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the role or projects assigned to meet the overall objectives of the role.
Ensuring that the Safety Management System is effectively implemented within their areas of responsibility.
Maintain workplace precautions suitable to the working environment and as identified in risk assessments.
Provide suitable levels of information, in their area.
Provide feedback on performance including successes and failure of plans or precautions.
Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorisation are brought to the attention of their immediate superior.
Assist with moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
Assist visiting specialist engineers where necessary.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in an FMCG, chilled environment.
Multi Skilled Electrical/Mechanical.
Apprenticeship trained and tested - ONC/HNC.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.
Understanding of refrigeration systems a bonus.
Ability to use a CMMS system.
Strong ability to be hands-on, work independently, and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to effectively identify problems.
Technical skills: Assess own strengths and weaknesses, pursue training and development opportunities, strive to continuously build knowledge and skills, share expertise with others.
Previous experience of working with packing machinery.
Strong knowledge of bearings, pneumatics, electrical control systems, process control, fault diagnosis and safety systems, Cooling/ Refrigeration systems.
Excellent health and safety awareness.
Experienced in completing routine checks and identifying preventative measures.
Competent in report writing.
Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Computer literate and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Willingness to work flexibly as part of a rotating shift system.
Practical attitude; logical and flexible approach to working.
Quality: Must demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and commitment to complete tasks correctly the first time.
