Maintenance Engineer

Location: Honiton, EX14 1ST

Full-time | Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm (occasional Saturdays with TOIL)

Salary: 30k-40k (negotiable based on experience)

We are looking for a proactive maintenance engineer to join our growing team at Devonvale -- a fast-paced food production bakery committed to quality, innovation, and great people.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring machinery, equipment, and facilities are running efficiently through a mix of planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out mechanical and electrical fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance Respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise downtime Support improvement and installation projects across the bakery Conduct regular daily check-ins in the bakery to maximise equipment and bakery performance Assist with training and upskilling bakery staff on basic machinery use and fault detection Maintain accurate logs and support stock control for parts and components Work closely with Production and Planning to ensure the smooth running of shifts Promote and contribute to high Health & Safety standards
What we're looking for:

Electro-mechanical background (food production experience a bonus) Strong problem-solving ability and hands-on maintenance skills A great attitude, team spirit, and flexibility Someone who is methodical, safety-conscious and always looking for ways to improve Willingness to be part of a call-in rota or respond to urgent breakdowns
