D.P.D. Ltd (Date Palm Developments ) is a small Small, Somerset-based plant tissue culture and nursery business, specializing in Date Palm plants for export.
The company has over 30 years' experience in producing Date Palm planting stocks from tissue culture in our clean room micropropagation laboratories and Greenhouses.
We are seeking a qualified maintenance engineer to join our small engineering and maintenance team. The role requires a minimum Electro-Technical qualification to Level 3 (City & Guilds or EAL) and you will have served a recognised apprenticeship. Experience of the repair and installation of PVC, copper and steel pipework would be an advantage but not essential. All candidates must be willing to join the call out rota upon completion of suitable training.
The role involves day to day electrical & mechanical maintenance and breakdowns. Requiring candidates to have good working knowledge of 3 phase motor drives and schematic wiring diagrams. Other maintenance and repair activities involve the following:
Air conditioning systems (DX and chilled water)
Boilers (oil fired) and low pressure heating systems (LPHW)
Steam boiler and autoclaves
Pneumatic systems supplying greenhouse bench transport and humidity systems
An appreciation of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
A clear passion for engineering with a desire to learn and grow in the role
Additional Qualifications
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) Requirements for Electrical Installations
Electrical test and Inspection (C & G 2381 or EAL 4337 & 4338) preferred but not essential
