We have an opportunity in our team for an additional Maintenance Engineer. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager you will be part of a dedicated team of engineers and technicians responsible for all aspects of installation, maintenance and repair of equipment that is essential to the efficient and safe running of the facility. This will include electrical and pneumatic powered machinery as well as gas powered boilers and steam generating equipment.
You will have experience of a role where you have supported and guided other members of a team, helping them to improve their knowledge and experience and working with them to achieve deadlines and maintain running times of equipment to ensure the operation can maximise productivity at all times.
As one of two Maintenance Engineers, you will be able to support and potentially deputise for the Site Engineering Manager and support additional activities such as contractor management.
Managing stakeholders will also be a key skill. Our customer, Operational teams and our third-party suppliers will all need the support of you and the team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Dealing with issues with the site and equipment in a timely and safe manner is key along with the ability to communicate effectively, keeping those who need to be aware up to date on activity and progress.
It is likely you will have worked in a Warehouse / Manufacturing before and have experience with the challenges and opportunities faced by a maintenance team. You will not only be driven to complete tasks to a high standard, but you will also be focused on safe working practices.
Your skills and experience will include:
Proven experience in a hands-on technical role within a warehouse/manufacturing environment used to working with hand tools
NVQ level 3 in a mechanical or electrical specialism is preferred
An understanding of health and safety and safe working practices such as Lockout-Tagout. IOSH Managing safely is preferred.
Proficient in English, able to read and follow manuals and instructions
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications and CMMS
Problem-solving skills
Strong Interpersonal skills
Knowledge and experience of carrying out PPMs and fixing breakdowns
You will need to be capable of learning new things as the operation evolves
Knowledge of steam, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic equipment would be advantageous.
PLC input / output level would be advantageous
Experience of coaching and sharing knowledge with team members is key. You may have held line management responsibility although this is not essential
Previous experience of contractor management including issuing of permits
